Friendships transcending dimensions

The nature of friendship has a multitude of dimensions. You have it in a number of flavours. The friendships out of love, out profitm just friends for no other reason, acquaintances, friendships out of necessity just to name a few. Friendship remains a pillar of support in times of joy, pain, pleasure, disgrace, embarrassment and love. The dimensions and layers are mind bogglingly complex. Each one of us has his own special definition of friendship and what it constitutes. Love, respect, competence, fairness, common interests are just some of the ingredients that form that unique definition. Yet it remains an essential aspect of our lives, like a feeling you cant define, like a thought you cant touch, yet it envelopes you and you unconsciously recognize it’s importance in your life.

Of all these types of friendships I love and treasure the type I share with the ‘The beepers’. I call it a friendship that transcends dimensions. A friendship that runs deep enough to make you realize what they mean in your life, like a undercurrent of blood throbbing, telling you it’s there to keep you strong .

I know we all live separate lives now, each with our own agenda, purpose and direction, yet the friendship remains the only thing we share. No expectations, no sacrifices, no apologies. A friendship among souls is rare to most, so I’m lucky to experience it with so many.

This friendship is not yours, it’s not ours, it’s mine and mine alone. I’m selfish for this reason. I don’t terribly miss anyone because the reasons are not evident. I don’t miss the things we bought, shared, did or broke. I miss the conversations. I feel no need to call all of you everyday because I find it pointless. When friendship runs deep, silence is the deepest respect given to it, because time and space and distance doesn’t even threaten it, forget break it. If we don’t meet for the next 5 years , I’ll accept it . I know you all deep enough to know that no matter how the situations, cicumstances, or countries change, the souls remain the same , immune to change.
So when we talk after a month I feel nothing has changed, like I met you yesterday. This is the nature of the highest state of friendship, where neither physical presence, nor distance or time can change what is timeless.

So Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Sydney, Mumbai don’t matter. Distance is physical. Friendships stay forever
